Disco Duck is inspired by a reference photograph I took of a much-loved ornament belonging to my little girl, Willow, who is now two. One of her very first words was “quack,” which makes this little duck feel incredibly special to me—full of personality and happy memories, far beyond its playful, sparkly appearance. I captured the photo on her bedroom windowsill just after nap time, when the room was bathed in soft golden-hour light that gently danced across the duck’s reflective surfaces.
There’s a real sense of fun and silliness in this fabulous little disco ducky, and that’s something I absolutely love—it captures a playful spirit, a duck who loves to dance!

'Heart in Armour'

As my artistic journey has evolved and my own motherhood has given me such huge connections to family, my piece exhibited named ‘heart in armour’ of a mother and baby pangolin got me curious about my own motherhood and the bonds between us and the world, especially those on the brink of extinction holding onto their children.
This piece was exhibited at the Derwent museum Keswick for the UK coloured pencil society 'Inside the lines' exhibition in 2025
